Generating a birthday message usually means staring at a blank text box. This project removes the blank box and replaces it with a guided editor that produces something you would actually send.

Approach
I designed the flow around a single screen. Inputs on the left, live result on the right, so every change is visible immediately and nobody has to navigate a wizard.
The prompt is built from the structured fields rather than from a free-text box. Constraining the input made the output noticeably less generic, which mattered more than any model tuning I could do at this scale.
Design decisions
- —A dark surface with one accent colour keeps attention on the generated message instead of the chrome around it.
- —Regeneration is a deliberate second action, not automatic on every keystroke — it keeps the editor calm and avoids surprising the person mid-sentence.
- —Copy and share are the only two end actions. Extra features here would have added interface without adding value.
What I learned
The quality of an AI feature is mostly an interface problem. Deciding what to ask the user, and what not to ask, did more for the output than anything on the model side.
I also learned to ship the smallest version that is genuinely usable, then judge it as a user rather than as its author.
